About Max Herrmann
Max was born in Putzig (Poland), about 100 km north of Warszawa. Max Herrmann had a shop in Marienwerder (today: Kwidzyn, Poland) sellig glass. porcellain, toys and travelling utilities. He had this shop between 1927 and 1933, when he was forced to give it up. It was a very good going business with about 10.000 Reichsmark profit a year, witnessed by Leo Landshut in 1957. He had several empolyees, Selma also worked there. They were forced to leave and went to Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, Auguststr. 42. They were selling womens underwear at the weekly markets in Berlin and around. They lived there at least until 1938. He lived in Elsasser Straße 54, Berlin-Mitte. Today the street is called "Torstraße", the house does'nt exist anymore.
Max Herrmann was deported from Berlin to Auschwitz-Birkenau at 29/01/1943 in Train Da 13. He was deported together with his wife Selma.
