About Max Soliven
Max was a noted Filipino journalist who co-founded (with Betty Go-Belmonte) the Philippine Star in 1986. His career spanned six decades, from the time he became the managing editor of The Guidon (the official student publication of the Ateneo de Manila University) in the late 1940s, until his death in 2006 while a publisher of the Philippine Star.

As a footnote, his brother is the real estate magnate Vic V. Soliven and his sister is the noted journalist Ethel Soliven Timbol. His wife Preciosa established Operation Brotherhood Montessori Center (O.B. Montessori Center). His daughter Sara is a columnist for The Philippine Star ("As A Matter of Fact").
