Maxine Regin Rasmussen

Name: Maxine Rasmussen Birth Place: Detroit, Michigan Date of Death: 16 Feb 2012 Children: Polly Rasmussen, Lee O'Dell and husband Michael Edward and Donna Sikes and husband John "Jack" Maxine M. Rasmussen, 89, of the 1300 block of Fordyce Dr, Chesapeake, VA, passed away on February 16, 2011. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Maxine was a registered nurse. She is survived by three daughters, Polly Rasmussen, Lee O'Dell and husband Michael Edward and Donna Sikes and husband John "Jack"; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Viola Regin Ivester, 86, passed away on May 21, 2010 in Tracy. Born Viola Regin Politzer to Charles and Ida Politzer on August 17, 1923 in Detroit, MI and has called Tracy/Manteca area her home for the past 15 years.

She was the owner/operator of an orchard and dairy along with her husband Daniel “Dan” Ivester. She was an avid knitter and made 76 knit stocking caps for the men and women serving overseas. Viola has lived in Merrill Gardens in Manteca for the past 2 years and loved Yosemite; it was her favorite place on Earth and loved being outdoors. In her youth she enjoyed ice skating and played ice hockey. On her dairy she did canning and enjoyed working in her garden that she loved. Viola met her husband Dan in Tindale Field, Florida. They enjoyed sailing together in the sailboat made by Dan. She was always there for anyone and everyone who needed her and was a very loyal friend to so many people. Viola enjoyed cooking, and loved feeding her family. Her passion was being with her family.

Her survivors include her sons Jacob Ivester Sr., Tracy, CA & wife Kathy, and Daniel Lee Ivester & wife Kaye of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her grandchildren: Regina M. Tucker & husband Richard of Acampo, CA; Jacob Ivester Jr. & fiancee Andrea Neiman of San Leandro; Amanda Thomas & husband Tony of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her great-grandson Richard Eston Tucker of Acampo, CA; and her sister Maxine Rassmusen of Tennesee.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Ida Politzer; her husband of 46 years Daniel W. Ivester; and her five sisters: Josephine, Fritzie, Gertrude, Bertha & her husband Carl Boschan; and Rose.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 1 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery 32053 McCabe Road, Gustine, CA. Her final resting place will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
