MAXINE A. SMITH-MEESE, 71, Smith-Meese died Thursday at Parkview Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, she retired in 1989 as an executive clerk from Pilsbury Co. after 16 years. Surviving are her husband, Urban J. of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Mary Jo Clem of Columbia City and Nancy A. Lusty of Irving, Texas; a son, Ted G. Smith of Syracuse, Neb.; two stepsons, James E. Meese of South Bend and Daniel U. Meese of Wichita, Kan., a brother, Robert J. Houser of Ball Lake; and six grandchildren. Services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, with rosary at 4 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to the church or St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
