ATKINS _ Maxwell 1915 - 2002 Maxwell Atkins of Vulcan, AB passed away at the High River Hospital on October 1, 2002 at the age of 87. Max will be dearly missed by Ardell, his wife of fifty-six years; and by his daughters, Maxine (Paul), Diana (Mike), June (Robert); and son Gene (Deanna). He will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Ryan, Kent, Holly, Jill, Lauren and Amber, whose lives were all enriched by his. Throughout his life, Max had three abiding passions: family, farming and flying. From 1939 to 1945 he was a pilot in the Royal Canadian Airforce, spending much of his time flying Spitfires overseas in World War II. Upon returning, he settled in the County of Vulcan where he began a life in farming that would last over fifty years. Max was predeceased by his four brothers and one sister and parents, Henry and Ada.
