"Mrs. Mae Summers, 84, died of a cerebral hemorrhage October 11 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Moore of Poland, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Summers was born April 23, 1887, in Glenville, (Gilmer Co.) W. Va., a daughter of Scott and Eleanor Bailey Black, and came to Youngstown 28 years ago from Beverly.
She was a former member of Glenville Presbyterian church. Her husband, Alvin, to whom she was married in 1903, died in 1943. Besides Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Summers leaves four other daughters, Mrs. Frank Moore of New Concord, Mrs. Pearl Antill of Zanesville, Mrs. Clifford Fisher of Canfield, and Mrs. Otis Harkleroad of North Jackson; a brother, D.J. Black, in West Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Davis-Velker Funeral Home, with Rev. Meade Letts officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn cemetery."
