Mehitable Mayhew formerly HigginsWAS BORN about 1678 in Chilmark, Dukes, Massachusetts Bay. Daughter of [father unknown] and [mother unknown] [sibling%28s%29 unknown] She married John Mayhew in 1701 in Martha's Vineyard, West Tisbury, Massachusetts Bay. She is the mother of John Mayhew, Theophilus Mayhew, Lois (Mayhew) Hunt and Zilpha (Mayhew) Tilton. Mehitabel diedfter 30 Mar 1718 [location unknown]. Biography

Mehitable Higgins’ residence and parentage is unknown, but it is probable that she came from Rhode Island. She married in 1701 at Martha’s Vineyard, John Mayhew.[1] John was born in 1676 and lived as a farmer at Chilmark, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Mayhew and Elizabeth Hilliard. John died 3 Mar 1735-6.[2]
