MILLERSBURG -- Melvin L. Troyer "Trucker Mel," 68, of Shreve, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 2, 2015, after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 30, 1947, in Coshocton County to the late Levi A. and Emma B. (Yoder) Troyer, and married Ada W. Troyer on April 20, 1967. She survives.

He was a retired livestock hauler and had a love for Haflinger horses. He was a member of Bethany Mennonite Church, Holmesville.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Leon (Joanna) Troyer of Fredericksburg, Leroy (Janice) Troyer of Shreve, LaVern (LeAnna) Troyer and Lavon (Barb) Troyer, both of Millersburg; grandchildren, Anson, Kiara, Krista (Henry) Miller, Karla, Kimberly, Kyle, Kari, Shaun, Sherri, Darryl and Marissa; a sister, Mary Raber of Charm; a sister-in-law, Edna Troyer of Sugarcreek; and brothers-in-law, David (Amanda) Troyer and Christ (Lizzie) Miller, both of Charm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Fannie Troyer, Ada Miller and Amanda Raber; brothers, Emanuel and Big Ben; and infant twins, Perry and Clara.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. at Gospel Haven Church, Benton, with Paul J. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in New Life Fellowship Cemetery (formerly Bethany Mennonite Church) Holmesville.

Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church.
