Biography

Mercy was born in 1706 at Plymouth in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. She is the daughter of Thomas Savery and Esther Saunderson or Saunders.[1] She married Ichabod Samson there in 1733[2] and they had at least six children together who were born at Plymouth. Mercy died in 1778 and is buried at the Centre Cemetery in Wareham.[3]

In both his NEGHR article and his book, author John Vinton lists five children and some of the dates don't match actual birth records. [10]
