Comments

In the profile of William Wilberfoss Smith, III it states: "William Smith married a second time in 1720, to Mercy, surname unknown." Some accounts state that Mercy was also a Croasdale, but no evidence exists to support that. Attached source to William states also that the surname of Mercy is unknown.

Date and place of birth have been (erroneously?) reported to be circa 1700 at Burt, Yorkshire (now Lancashire?), England.

Note

Her youngest child was born in 1736. It is possible her maiden name is Brock. See her memorial at FindAGrave. Mercy Brock Smith. William's first wife was Mary Agnes Croasdale, Mary was born in 1669. They have been confused in abundant genealogies.
