SSN: 559-03-7108 Graduated San Bernardino High School 1928; attended San Bernardino Valley College, USC, graduated from Pomona College. Worked on Pan-American Highway on a one year contract in Central America around 1942. Returned from Central America and was drafted into the Navy. Reported to boot camp and then received approval from his application for Officer Candidate School. Lived in Aunt Kitty (ex wife of Uncle Clarence Smith) house in La Jolla for 30 days prior to reporting to OCS in Tucson Arizona. The large number of officers needed for wartime service were referred to as the' 90 day wonders' for the accelerated program they went through.
