2005...UK Census 1871 lists Michael, age 62, head of household, employed as a laborer colliery, born GALWAY, Ireland. Residing with him are his wife Theresa, age 48, also born Galway. Children: Mary, unmarried, age 17 yrs. employed in a factory doing hand work, born Chesterfield, Derby; John, age 15 yrs, employed as a laborer, born Chesterfield, Derby and Thomas, age 13 yrs, employed as a laborer, born Chesterfield, Derby. They lived in Chesterfield, Derbyshire at that time. Children's place of birth must have been Derbyshire and Derby was a contraction.

In view of the fact that one family interchanged the names Fahey and Foy and the family originated in Galway, Ireland, I am presuming that Mary Foy's daughter Mary Ellen later married a distant relative when she wed Michael Fahey.
