Name Jacobs comes from Jacobs house, in which the family lived. The children are baptized under the name Frantzen, however all later bare the surname Holzemer, which the father brought along from Welschbillig. He was called also Michael Jacobs. Debt admission 1721 to Citizens hospital St. Jakob in Trier. Specified in the land measure book Gilzem on 5-13-1721. Born about 1688, called "Jacobs Erb", with indication of house mark. This family was called in the documents of the State Archives of Trier also Holzemer. Also are all children of this marriage registered under the family name Holtzemer in Church book 1 Welschbillig. From the documents of the monastery Helenenberg and the basic court book Gilzem the name change follows however explainably. In the house lived on one half the family Holtzemer Meyers. The husband originated from Idenheim and controlled with the name Holtzemer the other family Frantzen in particular.
