Michael was a son of Michael Fries Sr. (1839-1925) and Elizabeth Frey (1842-1925). He was born in Woolwich Township near the village of Winterbourne in 1865.
On January 10, 1893 in Elmira, Ontario, he married Lucinda Conrad (1873-1956). Marriage Register #012110.
They raised 2 daughter, Hilda Elizabeth (1894-1982) and Delphine Alberta (1905-1989).
Michael farmed most of his life in Woolwich Twp;, but after retiring he moved to Kitchener and became a shoemaker.
Michael passed away at home at 87 Courtland Ave. in Kitchener on December 31, 1932. Cause of Death was Apoplexy (Heart Disease). He lived 67 years, 3 montha and 20 days. Death Certificate #032932.
Date of Burial was January 03, 1933 in St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Elmira, Ontario. Note: The Tomstone Dates are Sept. 11, 1866 to Jan. 31, 1933. His Death Certificate states he was born on Sep. 11, 1865 and Died on Dec. 31, 1932.
