Michael House

He was the 2nd child and 2nd son born to Mathias and Maria Margaretha (Jaeckler) Hous.

Family moved to Culpeper County, Virginia in abt 1771.

He was united in marriage to Susannah Zimmerman on December 8, 1789, Culpepper County, Virginia. To this union, eleven known children were born: Elizabeth (House) Utz, Nancy (House) Sellers Huffman, Mary (House) Shelley, Susannah (House) Blankenbaker, Joshua Josiah House, Simeon House, Lydia (House) Hoffman, Mildred (House) Tanner, Anna (House) Bunger, Julianna (House) Shelley, & William Allen House

He purchased 50 acres of land in Culpeper County, Virginia on March 10, 1790, for 12 pounds, (Deed Book P, pg 364) and again on September 23, 1813, he purchased 28 3/8 acres for $410 (Deed Book 5 pg 289).

In 1802, went to Lititz, Pa. and hauled on Ox-drays, a pipe organ that had been purchased for the Hebron Lutheran Church. The organ is still in the church.

In 1833, went to Preble County, Ohio, where he purchased 77.76 acres, of land in Monroe Township, Preble County, Ohio, on June 06, 1834. (Deed Book 16, page 207; first land purchase on record)

He died without a will, Susannah, his wife, relinquished her right to administer estate to Simeon House.
