Michael, commonly called Big Michael, was a coal miner. He was probably the oldest member of the L.0.C. in this diocese at the time of his death. When the late Father Shaw organized the first branch of the L.0.C. in this diocese, at Glace Bay, Big Michael joined it, and he never broke his pledge. Pity that all who joined that great organization have not done likewise. He married Ann, daughter of James McKenzie, of Rear Christmas Island.
