Michael Thomas McCarthy

Michael Thomas McCarthy was born on March 13, 1957 to Homer and Bernice (Schiltz) McCarthy in Estherville, Iowa. He attended St John's Catholic School in Bancroft. After school Michael enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged four years later. Michael married Peggy Davis and together they had a son, Michael. They were later divorced. After being honorable discharged from the Army he moved to Tishomingo, Oklahoma for 25 years. While in Oklahoma he worked for the city and county court house as a maintenance man. After being south for 25 years he decided to move back to Buffalo Center. Michael was an outdoors man. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and cooking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Emery. Michael T. McCarthy died Sunday, April 17, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona. He was 59. Left to cherish his memories are a son, Michael (Megan) McCarthy and their daughter Emery of Durant, OK; his Mother, Bernice; his fianc, Sandy Hershey of Buffalo Center; siblings, Richard (Nicole) McCarthy of Albuquerque, NM, Mark McCarthy of Brighton, CO, Janice (Michael) Storlien of Fishers, IN, Justin (Nancy) McCarthy or Corona, CA, Jeff (Cindy) McCarthy or Brush, CO, and Tom (Diane) McCarthy of Lake Elisnore, CA.
