recently came across your genealogy information and have some questions. Specifically about the Ries family information. I am looking for information on a Michael Ries and it appears that a Michael Ries married Susanna Elenz the daughter of Jacob Elenz and a Michael Ries married Margaret Elenz the sister of Jacob Elenz. Did you run across of any of this or does this sound familiar to you? Thanks, Rochelle Phelps

Subject: By the way--who I am...

Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 19:18:40 EDT

I tried to send this and my file, bounced back so here's who I am without the file.... HI, I'm Michelle Huss great great granddaughter to Michael Ries (1858) a half brother to your Michael (born in 1833). I haven't contacted you earlier. I was intimidated by your website. But, Merle and Shirley said you were related and not to be intimidated. Here's my file, so you can see I'm legit. I didn't privatize the information. Which may not have been a smart thing to do, but I figured Merle and Shirley have been wonderful and they wouldn't steer me wrong. I haven't updated my file for about a week. So some of the connections aren't in. For example, your Michael and My Michael being half brothers.

Some interesting people you probably already know but, I'll tell you about: There are some great Ries people doing your side of the family. But, there are at least 2 great people in your exact tree, and there are four or us in half brothers to your Michael that I know of.

This lady above is wonderful. She and the MRIes on your ancestry.com board are about as helpful and knowledgeable as you can get. (Tericox@hotmail.com, Mries56511@aol.com, respectfully). Dee (Daniel) on the message board, belongs to your Michael's half brother John, Sr. Married to Katherine Heiderscheidt. A website to see that line is:

Brenda is a great person too, she's very helpful. And very excited (Blmaki@aol.com).

I fall under your Michael's half brother Michael, along with two other of my cousins working with me. One on the message boards, (hmstaebell@juno.com, and bowln31@rconnect.com), you can also find on the message boards. MRies56511 has been to Germany and knows the family furthest back. He and his wonderful wife gave enough information to this man in Dyersville, that he published this family tree and this is how I found them. I'll send it to you sometime.Just wanted you to know who the crazy person sending you email was and who the other people was she copied. Oh, the marc is from the message boards. He has a Joseph he thinks is a son to your Michael. So alas another one for your tree. (Ancestory.com) Michelle Huss
