Michael Robb (1942 - 2005)
Brief overview:
Michael (63), a farmer from Creighton, KZN, who lived alone, was brutally beaten, tortured and murdered on 26th October 2005. He was asleep with the two killers broke in and dragged him from his bed. His hands were handcuffed and his legs tied together with a plastic bag, tortured and beaten to death with a golf club. His body was dumped in a nearby dam.
On 18th December 2006, in the Pietermaritsburg High Court, Mzwandile Radebe (18) was sentenced to 20 years, Sandile Hlope (20) was sentenced to three years for housebreaking and robbery, by Judge Jan Hugo.
Radebe escaped a life sentence because the State had failed to prove that the murder was premeditated.
