OBITUARY by The Republican American (Waterbury, Connecticut) - April 23, 2009:
SOUTHBURY – Mrs. Mildred B. “Millie” (Valentas) Fahey, 98, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury after a long and happy life. She was the widow of John E. Fahey.
Mrs. Fahey was born in Scranton, Pa., on June 17, 1910, daughter of the late Kostantas and Monika (Blazevicius) Valentas. She lived most of her life in Wolcott as a homemaker and center of her family. Millie was an American Red Cross volunteer during World War II. She will be remembered for her gentile nature, good humor and her thirst for life.

Millie’s family wishes to thank the staff of Southmayd Home in Waterbury and River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury for their kindness, dedication and support to Millie during the later years of her life.
The funeral will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to St. John of the Cross Church, Middlebury, for a Mass at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River Glen Health Care Center – Resident Activities, 72 South Britain Road, Southbury 06488; or to the Southmayd Home – Resident Activities, 250 Columbia Blvd., Waterbury 06710.

Fahey of Old Saybrook; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Patti, Scott, Jackie Jr., Glenn and Christopher; and nine great-grand-children, Lauren, Olivia, Brooke, Evan, Bridget, Claire, Aiden, Jacob and Nevaeh.
