About Mildred Lucille Gilbert
Mrs. Lucille Kennedy Gilbert, age 93, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, May 8, 2005, in D'Iberville. . Gilbert was born April 26, 1912 to the late Louis and Loretta Harris Kennedy of Biloxi. A longtime member of Epworth Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School and was Church School Superintendent. She is now a member of Heritage United Methodist Church in D'Iberville. She worked many years in the Biloxi School System Cafeteria, was the manager of St. Michael's School Cafeteria and retired as supervisor of the Harrison County Head Start Food Service. A 25 year member of Fellowship Chapter #388 Order of the Eastern Star in Biloxi, she served as Worthy Matron and was honored last yeas as a "Special Star" at Grand Chapter. Mrs. Gilbert was a Past President of Gorenflo School PTA and was very active in the Biloxi Jr. High PTA. She was a devoted wife, mother and granny to her family and loved to work with her flowers. She ws preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Loretta Kennedy; her husband, Norman Alphonse Gilbert; a sister, Amy Kennedy Barich and two brothers, Uriel Ray Kennedy, Sr. and H. Doyle Kennedy.
She is survived by one son, Philip Gilbert and his wife, Lois, of Esperance, New York; two daughters, Norma Jean Hart and her husband, Ernest, of D'Iberville and Starlyn Eaton of Prescott, Michigan; a sister, Edith Dellenger and her husband, Phillip Dellenger, of Biloxi; a brother, Charles Roy Kennedy, Sr., of Biloxi; sixteen grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
