Mildred Lucy Rausch

Mildred Rausch, 93 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Friday, December 7 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 12 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, December 12 from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. A Rosary will be held at 4:30 PM followed by a Parish Prayer at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mildred “Millie” Rausch was born on September 8, 1919 Wootton Rivers R.D. England to the late William and Edith (Goddard) Strange. She grew up in England with her three siblings. She was united in marriage to Othmar Rausch on November 2, 1943 in Wiltshire, England. The couple moved to Little Falls, MN in the winter of 1946. They moved for a short time to Monticello, MN, before returning to Little Falls, MN in 1948. Millie was a homemaker raising the couple’s six children. Othmar died on October 8, 2000. She continued living in Little Falls, MN until her death. Millie enjoyed knitting, gardening, embroidery, gardening especially flowers, camping and campfires, walking and riding bike. Millie volunteered for many years at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, The Christian Mother’s, The St. Anne’s Mission Circle, Lucky Lindy Camping Club and the square dancing club in St. Cloud, MN.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Helen) of Little Falls, MN, Janet Sanderson of Little Falls, MN, Duane (Katherine) Rausch of Monticello, MN, Jane Rausch (Brent Nereson) of Oakdale, MN, Donald (Christie) Rausch of Elk River, MN;brother, Roy (Josie) Strange of England; grandchildren, Lorie, Scott, Peter, Luke, Jesse, Jackie, Connie, Tess, Jacob, Nick, Janelle, Cindi, Brigette, John, Bethany, Trista, Anthony, Alex, Tyler and Kelsey; 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith (Goddard) Strange; husband, Othmar on October 8, 2000; sister, Evelyn Vincent; brother, Arthur Strange; son-in-law, Darrell Sanderson and grandson, Brent Sanderson.
