- He was swept overboard during a storm in the Atlantic Ocean Latitude 44.20 Longitude 63.10. There is a memorial stone at Mount Recluse Cemetery with this information on it. His wife and 2 children (Madelon and Livia) are buried there. It is a tall gravestone about in the center of the cemetery on a knoll. A chart of this last voyage with his route marked and the dates is in my possession.
