Minakwad

Minakwad does not have a numbered listing on the 1907 Wooster Roll, presumably because he was deceased by 1907. Minakwad is named on the roll as the grandfather of 74 year old Frank Kahgee # 726 (born about 1833, the year of the Treaty of Chicago). One of the men who put his mark as a signatory to the 1833 Treaty of Chicago is recorded as "Me-nuk-quet", a name which is phonetically very similar to "Minakwad" so it is highly likely that the two names refer to the same man. The name "Minakwad" also appears on the 1907 Wooster Roll as the traditional name of Livingstone Kahgee # 745, 3rd great grandson of Minakwad.
