"We had a daughter, Minnie Vesta, she was our youngest child, she was past fifteen years of age, she was very devoted to her brothers and grieved for them constantly after they went to war. She said she never would see another happy day until the two that were in France was back on American soil.

When the said message came of her brother's death, it was more than she could bear, she was taken ill in about four hours after we received the telegram and lived only five days.
