About Minnie Muilenburg
Mrs. Hubert P. Muilenburg of Orange City passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 30, after a brief illness and hospitalization.
Mrs. Muilenburg, nee Minnie De Jong, was born at Orange City on January 14, 1876, and was raised there.
She married Hubert Muilenburg on December 30, 1897. Mr. and Mrs. Muilenburg and family resided on a farm north of Orange City until their retirement around 25 years ago. He preceded in death in 1946.
Surviving are three daughters Clarinda (Mrs. Chris De Haan) of Chester, S. D., Margaret (Mrs. Amos Vander Wilt) of Sioux Center, Rebecca (Mrs. Edwin De Vries) of Denver, Colo.; three sons: Conrad of Sioux Falls, S. D., Peter of Sibley, Iowa, and Hubert of Hartley. One sister, Nell (Mrs. Ben Hanemaayer), passed away June 5. There are 18 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Chas. Sterrenburg of Orange City, and a brother, Joe K. De Jong of Sheldon, surviving.
Rev. R. Van Heukelom officiated at the funeral services and interment was made in the Orange City cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
