About Miriam Resnick
(1) Miriam's father, Samuel came to the United States in about 1910. He sent back money to bring the rest of the family over. Unforunately, World War I and the Russian revolution got in the way. The family left Russia in 1923 for Poland. They stayed in Poland for 2 1/2 years until they got their visas to enter the US. During that time Miriam married and started a family. As a result, she stayed in Poland when the rest of the family left for the US in 1925. The family continued to receive letters from her until the middle of World War II when the letters abruptly stopped. Although they never found out exactly what happend, the family assumed that Miriam and her family were killed during the Holocaust.
