Humansville Loses Beloved "Aunt Zou", 96
Humansville lost one of it's most beloved and colorful figures Thursday when Mrs. Missouri Wright Poindexter, better known here as "Aunt Zou", died at the home of her brother, Dr. Albert Wright. Although she was 96 years od "Aunt Zou" was one of the most interested, and interesting persons in Humansville. She had a colorful history, was a brilliant conversationalist and inveterate reader, and her home was the gathering place of your and old alike.
"Aunt Zou" was the second woman graduated from Louisville Theological Seminary. That, she has explained was in the days when it wasn't considered quite proper for women to go to school. She came from Kentucky to Missouri with her family-which number six boys and six girls-and was one of the first women school teachers in the state.
