About Monte Jayson Boe
Musically inclined: played the accordian, piano, and guitar. Love country and western music, liked to dance.
Was a master carpenter/contractor by trade. Built his first home his family lived in, and built house on ranch. Built many beautiful homes around Portland, Oregon. Could be silly with his kids. Outgoing and social person, very thankful later years in his life.
Dad recalls when he and mom got married in Gresham, OR. The twins were there. Dad said mom's dress was light powder blue with little pleats hanging down, no veil. Dad said his family didn't like mom because she was too quiet and that he could have done better. But, he said he loved her. He stated she was as cute as a bugs ear.
More information from dad: The ranch was occupied by a man named Henry Toombs. He built the log house in 1894. He was white. Henry and Maude moved there in 1920, the year the twins were born. About 1946 he and mom moved there and dad built the house. Grama Boe (Maude) still lived in the log house next to it and moved to Harlem around 1950. Dad & Mom moved to Harlem in 1952.
