McCalla, Morgan C. Dimondale, MI Age 84, died Saturday October 29, 2005 in Lansing. Mr. Morgan was born May 11, 1921 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Charles and Anna (Morgan) McCalla. He was a retired farmer and had worked in the construction trades. He was a WWII Army veteran receiving Decorations and Citations including the EAME Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Blanchard, MI American Legion Post, the Maple City Post #2406 V.F.W. in Charlotte, was a former Weidman, MI Lions Club member and was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Grange. Surviving are: seven children, Charles (Karen) McCalla of Sylva, NC, John Michael (Dawn) McCalla of Pinckney, MI, Ann (James) Garvey of Charlotte, MI, Mary Elizabeth McCalla of Twinsburg, OH, Allen (Tawnia) McCalla of Stockbridge, MI, Patricia Stephens of Jackson, MI and Joseph (Christi) McCalla of North Branch, MI; 23 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Barbara) McCalla of Marine City and William McCal la of Ann Arbor; sister-in-law, Elaine McCalla of Chelsea and brother-in-law, Clint (Sue) Miles of Escanaba. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Pat (Miles) McCalla on June 24, 2005; three brothers, Frank, Raymond and Ralph McCalla and sister, Carolyn Stump. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Lawrence Ave. Methodist Church, Charlotte with Rev. Karen Wheat officiat ing. Visitation will be held at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hayes- Green-Beach Hospital or the V.F.W. Post #2406 both in Charlotte. Envelopes available at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home. The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power, to tell just when the hands will stop, on what day - or what hour. Now is the only time you have, so live it with a will, don't wait until tomorrow, the hands may then be still.
