Obituary https://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/annoshow?call=nfp|18820107|7|100.0|0
I believe he was a manufacturer of Meerschaum pipes (elegant pipes carved from sepiolite, a soft, white mineral). Latzko is a diminutive form of the Hungarian name László, so I assume the family came from Hungary, but I dont know when or how the name got transformed to Latzko.
He is buried in the Old Jewish section of Vienna's Zentral Friedhof: Tor 1, Gruppe 6, Reihe 16, Grab 18
Also in the grave are his son Ernst Latzko and his daughter Henriette Latzko
His two wives (Rosa geb. Ehrenfeld, died 10 Nov. 1855, and Henriette geb. Wettendorfer, died 11 March 1864) both pre-deceased him are are buried in the Währinger Friedhof, a cemetery that closed to new burials in 1880.
