Moses Baldwin, son of Moses Baldwin and Abigail Royce, was b. July 6,1731, of Saybrook, Conn.; thence perhaps to Wallingford, Conn., in 1759. He was in Capt. Redfield's Company, March 5,1760; then of Saybrook. He deeds to his brother James his interest in the dwelling of his grandfather. His wife's name is ELIZABETH.
Children were: James (1760), Sarah (d. in Cheshire.Conn), Abigail (d.in Meriden), Lucretia (d. in Meriden), and son (said to have m. and had s. Ira who m. Miss Wilcox,of Cheshire or South Meriden).
Note: Meriden and Cheshire were both towns set off from Wallingford.

According to a letter from Justina Clindora Baldwin Kennard, Moses enlisted 6/24/1776, was taken prisoner at Ft Washington Nov 16, likely exchanged by the British sometime later and continued in service.
