Research Notes
'I tracked down the details on the third marriage. It does not appear in any of the relevant vital or church records. The date that has been bouncing around the internet, and which I passed to you, is not of their marriage itself. On 12 Jan. 1766 at the West Hartford church, Moses Merril of Farmington and Bathsheba Grimes of Symsbury, published their intention to marry, but their marriage itself does not appear in the records of that church. It must have happened by 15 June 1766, when Bathsheba, wife of Moses Merril, was admitted to the church fellowship. The same West Hartford church records show Moses Merrills to have died 4 Aug. 1776 of "a complication of disorders", aged 70.'[5]
