Moses Peachey (Beachy)

- In 1785 to 1791 was listed as freeman (single) in Caernarvan Twp, the Conestoga Valley church. In 1794 bought a place in Big Valley, taxable yet in 1794 with 100 acres, 3 horses and 2 cows. The farm was one and a half miles west of Belleville, PA. In 1798 Union Twp, Mifflin Co, PA, one dwelling log house, $20. 100 acres $940. (AmHom p. 132) - Moses moved to the Valley in 1794 and bought a farm for 200 lbs. He owned and lived on the farm west of Belleville on Renno Road, where Israel Swarey, then Ezra B. Renno now owns and lives. The farm was patented Jan 9, 1822, then sold to son John for $2,047.67 in 1826 when John was 31 years old. John sold to Benjamin Beiler April 2, 1869 for $12,000. Benjamin Beiler's widow and heirs sold to David Y. Renno in 1885 for $12,000. - May 1794 purchased land in Union Twp. from Nicholas Grasman, bd. John Zuck (see review in Mifflin Co. Deed GG-41) - On his gravestone is written that 10 little stones are his grandchildren.
