About Moses Sandage
Dawn found info stating b: c 1774 Union County, SC d: c 1818 not verified
I think Dawn is correct because I think 1754 was his father's birthdate in VA and he was born in Union County SC. He was the eldest but on Rev War application for pension his brother shows himself being born in 1766 so that means that Moses would have to have been born around 1764. But everyone believes that the brother was actually born in 1776 which would make the 1774 date correct for Moses.
Moses is mentioned in 3 different Indiana county histories (Gibson, Warrick and Perry Counties) since he served in the war of 1812 with that famous guy (name eluding me at moment). We believe that Thomas also served in the war of 1812 but never found any mention of this. Although everyone says his brother served in Rev War and he got pension for same, our family believes he was mistaken and actually served in the war of 1812 and his birthdate was 1776 as shown in census and other places even though he insisted he was born in 1766.
Because Moses was the eldest of the 3 brothers he was given most of the family land and house that went with it. We never found out what happened to the land but assumed it was probably sold since this was in Union Co, SC and Moses and the one brother had moved to Indiana - but it may have been sold to the brother who stayed.
