Postville Herald: Military funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Pfc. Myron B. Anderson at the Marion Lutheran Church with Rev. S. J. Strandjord conducting the rites. The military rites were conducted by the American Legion of Elgin. Burial was in Marion cemetery.

Pfc. Anderson, who lost his life in the service of his country in 1944, was originally buried at Lunebach, Germany. His remains were returned to this country at the request of his family for burial here.

Myron Bernell Anderson, son of Rosina Mork Anderson and the late Chris. J. Anderson, was born April 26, 1914, near Gunder. He was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church. He received his elementary education in the rural school near his home and also attended the Elgin high school, graduating in 1932.

He worked on his father's farm until he went into the trucking business in this vicinity.

On June 1, 1941 he was united in marriage to Aldora Loftsgard. To this union was born one child, L'Myra Ann.

He answered the call of his country and was inducted into the army at Camp Dodge on March 9, 1943. He received his military training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Camp Atterbury, Indiana. During his military career he was a member of the Antitank Co., 424th Infantry, 106th Division. This division left for overseas in October 1944 and went to England for additional training, but were sent to the European theater of War in December. There during the Battle of the Bulge on the morning of December 16, 1944, Pfc. Myron Anderson is reported to have suffered a wound and also on this same day, is reported to have lost his life.

Pfc. Anderson was awarded the Driver's Badge, Good Conduct Medal and received the Purple Heart posthumously.

Myron was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Ernest and Ruthford.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, mother, one sister, Mrs. Bessie Thompson, five brothers, Arvid, Dale, Carlyle, Eiver and Kenneth. Also many other relatives and friends.

An official report of burial discloses that his remains were originally buried in the cemetery at Lunebach, Germany but were later disinterred by American Graves Registration Personnel and moved to the United States Military Cemetery, Neuville en Condroz, near Liege, Belgium.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. S. J. Strandjord at the Marion Lutheran Church with burial in the Marion Cemetery. Music was furnished by the Marion choir, Arthur Amundson accompanied by Gordon Mosby and Corrine Rypestal.
