GEDCOM Note
Myrtle married Shirley E. Miller in Utah during the Depression. The family moved to Southern California in 1936. Shirley (Sam) worked at various jobs, finally becoming a truck driver for Freight Transport Inc. Myrtle stayed at home to care for the children until about 1946 when she also went to work. She was a seamstress in Los Angeles until she became ill. She was semi-active in the Latter Day Saint Church and she made sure that her children attended Church on a regular basis. All her children are still active in the church (2000). She became ill with dementia, which was probably Alzheimer's disease. She went to a care center about 1982 and remained there until 1987 when she died.
Myrtle was born and raised in Marriott, Weber County, Utah, on the family farm. Among her childhood friends were "Nig" the horse, "Tom" the pig. Tom would play hide and seek with the children, and sometimes followed them to school. Following schooling in Marriott, Myrtle attended Weber State College. She always loved dancing, and was known to dance six nights a week, and work a full-time job during the day. Myrtle lived in Marriott, Ogden, Salt Lake, and Los Angeles, always planning to return some day to Utah. She was always close to her family, and had a life-long passion for genealogy and temple work.
