MIROSLAVA, WIFE OF SUTHOI KHAN
In some traditions, "Miroslava" is credited as the daughter of Isaac (Ivan) Belgun and Mirela of Tarnavo and sister of Bulgarian Emperors Teodor, Asen, and Kaloyan............Reputedly descended from the Jewish Khazar King David of Teman, who reigned from 986 - 998, via "Zechariah of the Khazars" and his son Isaac (Ivan) Belgun, also known as "Ivan the Khazar". Ivan Belgun is thought to have married Mirela Roditi (born 1070) and fathered Asen Belgun, reputedly the grandfather of Bulgarian Emperors (and brothers) -- 1.) Peter IV / Teodor, co - emperor 1185 - 1190 and 1196 - 1197, 2.) Ivan Asen I / Asen, co - emperor 1189 - 1196, and 3.) Kaloyan / Ioanitsa, emperor 1197 - 1207. A variety of sources acknowledge that Kaloyan was married to "Anna of Cumania", the parentage of whom is unknown. Interestingly, following the death of Boniface of Montferrat / Crusader King of Thessalonica on September 4, 1207 at the hand of Kaloyan's forces, Kaloyan himself was murdered by his Cuman commander, Manastar, at the siege of Thessalonica in October 1207. Kaloyan was thence suceeded by Boril / Boril Kaliman, "son of an unnamed sister of his predecessor Kaloyan", who thence proceeded to marry "Anna of Cumania". Could this "unnamed sister of his predecessor Kaloyan" possibly have been, in fact, been none other than Miroslava??
