~Ormerod's History of Chester,Vol III, p.88, "Brereton and Holt of Brereton" Predigree, Sir Ralph de Brerton, son of Sir William and his wife Margery de Thornton, Ormerod notes that said in some pedigrees to have married Ada, a daughter of David earl of Hunting and the widow of Henry Hastings. Sir Ralph was living in 1275. 713
