Gopala Krishna Murthy Nori

I am second son of Late Nori Venkateswarlu and Late Nori Sundaramma. I graduated in Civil Engineering, double Gold Medalist, from Guindy Engineering College, Madras University in 1930. I joined all India Engineering Service and started my career in the then Bombay Presidency, after Independence served in Governments of Bombay and Maharastra. After retiring from State Government service, I worked as Chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board, Chandigarh, Chairman of Water and Power Consultancy Services (Government of India Undertaking) till 1973. I was awarded Padma Sri and Padma Bhushan in 1962 and 1972 by Government of India. I was active till the last as a Chairman / Member of Technical Experts Committees of most of the Irrigation and Hydro Electric Projects in India.
