Nadine Prinsloo (1992 - 2013)

Brief overview:

Nadine (20), a passenger in her sisters car, was shot in the head whilst stationary on the N14 highway off-ramp, on 29th April 2013.

Her sister Simone had stopped the vehicle to call their father for directions. A friend of their's was in the back seat. Two armed men stormed the car shouting and demanding that they all hand over their mobile phones. Before Nadine, Simone or their friend could do anything, the men shot at them. Nadine in the head, Simone was hit on one finger by one of the bullets.

Their friend wasn't hurt. One of the men grabbed a mobile phone before they ran away. Simone managed to speed away. While the friend was trying to keep Nadine alive and call an ambulance, Simone rushed to Unitas Hospital. Simone called her father and he found them along the road and rushed to the hospital behind them. Nadine was pronounced dead at the hospital, Nadine would have celebrated her 21st birthday that weekend.

Sgt. Police spokeswoman Ann Poortman said the two suspects fled in the direction of the Olievenhoutbosch neighbourhood by foot. Nobody has been arrested yet.
