Nancy was the daughter of Priddy Meeks and Mary Jane McCleve.
She was one of the first white children born in Iron County. She was a Temple Worker in the Saint George LDS Temple for several years.
Nancy married Jerome Asay on June 1st 1875 in Harrisburg, Utah. They were later sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Saint George LDS Temple on August 1st 1877. Jerome died on October 6th 1940.
Nancy passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Naomi, of chronic myocardias and causes incident to age. She was ninety years old and the oldest resident of Emery County.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 26, 1950 at 10:30 a.m. in the Castle Dale LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop P. Eugene Johansen. Graveside Services followed in the Castle Dale City Cemetery, where she was buried beside her beloved husband, Jerome, in the Asay family plot. REST IN PEACE.
