About Nancy Jane Belcher
Nancy's first child was Elbert A. Tabor, father unknown. Evidence that Nancy was the daughter of James Tabor and Henrietta Blackwell comes from the fact that James's second wife deeded her dower interest to James' 114 acres to Moses Belcher, husband of Nancy. Also, the Tazewell Co., VA Deed Book 9 states that three tracts of land were transferred to Moses Belcher from James Tabor. Another factor was that Moses was appointed administrator of James Tabor's estate, and many items were purchased by Moses from the estate. It is presumed that Nancy and Moses were buried at their home near Falls Mills, Virginia.
