Obituary:
Nancy A. Maddox, daughter of Job (Joseph) H. and Mary Maddox was born March 5, 1865 and passed on from this life Sunday, Mar. 15, 1942 at the age of 77 years, and 10 days. She died at her home, 4418 At. Paul., Lincoln, Nebr.and was the widow of Frank Darby who died in 1932.
She came to Nebraska in1883 and was united in marriage to Frank Darby ) Sept. 12, 1883, at Lincoln, Nebr. To this union six children were born. One a son, Chester Lewis passed away at the age of two years (buried at Fairford Cemetary, Lincoln Nebraska).
Nancy settled on a farm east of Havelock where she lived until 1927 when she moved to Lincoln. Mrs. Darby(Maddox) joined the Methodist church in early womanhood and continued to affiliate with them throughout her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. She had lived in and adjacent to Lincoln for the past 57 years.
She leaves to mourn her loss, three sons Emery W. of Lincoln, Luther M. of Plainsview, Nebr., John H. of Long Beach, Calif., two daughters Myrtle Upright and Pearl Genger of South Gate, Calif. Two sisters Kate A. Nelson of Lynwood, Calif. Ella M. Youn, Havelock, Nebr. There are also fourteen frand children and two great grandchildren.
