Obituary: At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adam Strouse, Wooster, Ohio, May 22, 1882, Mrs. Nancy Gable, widow of William Gable, aged 72 years, 6 months and 6 days. Mrs. Gable was born in Franklin county, Pa; was married to Wm. Gable in 1827. The result of the marriage was five sons and six daughters, of which number all the daughters and one son remain to mourn the loss of a true, loving and kind mother. Mrs. GAble, together with her husband came to Ohio while the State was still a wilderness, and made for themselves a home, which will always be remembered by their children with much joy and reverence. Mrs. Gable was converted about the year 1840, under the ministration of Elder West, and soon after connected herself with the Church of God to which society she clung with Christian fervency until the date of her death. She has left behind her a rich legacy in the memory of a pure character, a loving dispostion, a strong faith and an every day Christian life. Her habit of mind was cheerful, even in the last affliction, and her life, consistent with her profession, was a living epistle that benefits all who are called upon to read it. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Winbigler of the Church of God, assisted by Rev. U. Richards, of the M.E. Church. (copy of this sent by Mrs. C. Haulk, daughter-in-law of Mrs. Estelle Strouse Haulk Bowerize, living daughter of Mrs. Adam Strouse 2/26/68)
