About Nancy Marie Maravell

Nancy was born in Worcester, Mass., daughter of C. Philip Johnson and Olive E. Johnson of Fitchburg. She married Reverend William Maravell in 1950. Nancy was raised in Fitchburg and attended North Park College in Chicago, Ill., and obtained a Master's Degree in Education at Fitchburg State. She and her husband raised their children in Lunenburg, Mass. where they conceived, built and owned Maplewood Golf Course. She taught science at North Middlesex Regional and was a 3rd grade teacher at Hosmer School in Fitchburg. She was an active member of the Pilgrim Covenant Church in Lunenburg and both the Sandwich First Church of Christ and the Cape Cod Covenant Church of which she was a charter member and was also a member of the Cape Cod Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity and also attended Dummerston Center Congregational Church in Vertmont.

Nancy loved sunsets and the beach, especially West Dennis beach and the Bass River. She loved photography, science, playing the organ, singing and playing golf. She loved having wonderful meals with her family and saving room for dessert.

Nancy was known for her limitless love for life and her dedication to students and families in need of a caring and understanding friend and mentor. She spread joy and happiness wherever she went and was a best friend to everyone. She was a devout Christian, a loving wife and mother and friend to those in need.
