Origins
James Whaley was born ca 1720 in Virginia, possibly the son of Ann (unknown) and James.
He married Hannah Higgerson in 8 July 1739 at Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co, Virginia[2]. They had four children together. Hannah died after the birth of Elizabeth.
He then married Penelope King and they had ten children together.
