About Nancy Raiello
Nancy was born with a hole in her heart. She was very blue and could not do very much, She was schooled at home by Mrs. Hedden. Dad took her to Baltimore when she was 17 because they were doing open heart surgery there, He could not sign for her, if she died he could not have lived with himself. Parents learned the surgery was being done at Saint Michaels in Newark, NJ. Nancy was then 21 and deteriorating severely. The First Aid Squad came frequently and she was also given last rites. It was an awful time for the family. Nancy signed for herself, and so she was operated on. Jean and I went to see her the next morning. She was all pink and her nails had shrunk to normal size,
Nancy married and she and Tony adopted two children, and she went on to lead a normal life. Her heart started to fail in about 2001 and she died in November of 2003.
