About Nancy Harlan

Franklin Co, GA Court Records, March 16, 1809 - date of release;

"To George Paris & Richard Row, executors of the estate of James Vann dcsd. Whereas Joseph Vann, dcsd, the father of said Nancy, did in his lifetime give to her a negro named Rona, but was kept by Nancy's brother James Vann, said Nancy made an application to the executors of the said James Vann, and the negro named Rona and her increase named Caesar, Harey, Simon, Moses, Aggy, Hannah, Suckey, and Joshua were put into said Nancy Vann's possession, she now releases said Paris and Rowe [sic] from any further claims she may have. Signed Nancy Van [sic] Wit. Geo. Harlin, James Brown, James Blair. Sworn to, Oct. 17, 1818 by Col. James Blair.Emmet Starr lists Annie May as having died with no issue; however, a fellow researcher assures me that Annie May was the mother of at least one child, Elmira Harlan, with Miller applications as supportive documentation. I'm ordering the applicable application copies so that I can review them for corrections to my postings here.
