Nannette Panzer Larson, 81, passed away Monday, December 31st, in her Eureka home. Nannette was born in New Jersey in 1926, raised in Brooklyn. She met the love of her life, Lloyd, on New Year’s Eve 1944, and went to be with him New Year’s Eve 2007. They were married in New York at the 400 Club, and often told of Benny Goodman playing at their wedding. Nan and Lloyd were married over 60 years, during which time they had four children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Nannette completely devoted herself to family. She attended sports and school activities for her children and grandchildren as well as special events, birthdays, and holidays. The family loved spending time with Nan and Lloyd for birthdays and special occasions at their home in Eureka. Summers at their Bridgeville cabin were never complete without family gatherings, reunions, and picnics. Mom was a great cook. Our favorites included blintzes, homegrown apple pie, rugalahs, and rocky road candy. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting for her family and friends. She won many awards and ribbons at the county fair and state grange competitions. Nan was a Grange member for over 50 years. Through the years, she served as secretary, treasurer, and other posts. Mom enjoyed volunteering and serving others. She participated in many charitable services and activities through the grange. She was given the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Exchange Club for her service to rest home patients. Lloyd passed away February 12, 2007. Nan, a breast cancer survivor, is survived by her sister, Bernese Sobel. Lloyd’s brothers and sisters, Audrey Ragasin, Patricia Wiversol, Garth Larson, Merlyn and Evelyn Larson. [see private comment for listing of descendants]. Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 E Street in Eureka on Thursday, January 3rd from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Crypt-side services at Ocean View Cemetery for family Friday, January 4th at 11:00, and a "Celebration of Life" will be held at Humboldt Grange 501 at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home, Eureka.
